1. Who is Chris Aho in a nutshell and what is your function at Rompa Indepak?
“As General Manager of Indepak, I am responsible for oversight of all aspects of the organization. I am fortunate to have a great Management Team and other staff throughout the company. We pride ourselves on pleasing our customers and providing them with great value. This starts with establishing a clear understanding of their needs and desires. Everything that we do at Indepak is with the goal of forming and maintaining long lasting partnerships with our clients. Personally, I enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fitness and have participated in several types of motorsports.”

2. How long have you been working for Rompa Indepak and is your current position your first position at Rompa Indepak?
“Indepak is a second generation family owned and operated business. I have worked here since 1986. Over the years, I have held nearly every position in the company. This was done intentionally as an apprenticeship in order to prepare me for taking over management, which occurred in 2005.”

3. Tell me how a typical day at the office looks like. What do you do and who do you speak?
“In the custom thermoforming business, I don’t know if there is such a thing as a typical day. Each day brings new opportunities and challenges, which we welcome and tackle. I manage the heads of the departments in our organization. I am actively involved in all areas from Sales through Finance, Engineering, Production and Account Management.“

4. What makes Rompa Indepak…. Rompa Indepak? And what makes Rompa Indepak unique in the plastics industry?
“We are a close knit group of people. We work hard, but also take time throughout the year for company social events where we can spend some time connecting with each other on a more personal level. We operate as one large team, all working together toward the same goals. We take care of each other when someone is in need. In addition to our focus on customer satisfaction, Indepak has many years of experience in Custom thermoforming to draw on. We have broad and deep technical capabilities when it comes to designing parts, engineering and building tooling in-house and taking on the more challenging projects.”

5. What do you contribute to the company?
“My responsibility is to provide the direction for the organization and ensure that we are on course in regard to our company Mission, Values, Goals etc.”

6. How do you stay ahead in your line of work and how do you stay inspired?
“It has been said that it is lonely at the top. It is important for people leading an organization to have a group of peers from outside of the company. I am a member of a Christian business organization called The C12 Group ( We formally and actively work on developing all aspects of our companies. The group provides support, accountability, advice and the resources needed to do this.”

7. What are your ambitions for the next 5 years and how do you want to achieve them?
“We are focused on a healthy growth rate. We don’t want to be the biggest, but we do aspire to be the best. We have a rolling 5 year strategic plan that is actively worked on by the Department Managers as well as others and reviewed on a monthly basis.”

8. Who is your example, your role model?
“My father is the one who has taught me the most about our industry and business in general. However, as a Christian my role model is Jesus Christ. Although there are many great people in the business world and throughout history, all of us have flaws. Jesus is the only person who is perfect. I strive for perfection, knowing that at the same time I will never attain it.” 

9. What is your motto?
“Our motto is “Forming Good Impressions”. We strive to do this in all of our relationships – with coworkers, customers, suppliers and anyone else that we come in contact with.”
